Bio

Welcome to my website and please allow me to introduce myself. I am the Forsaken Outlaw or rather James but what fun is that name by itself. I'm a recent college graduate with a bachelor's of arts in political science that I hope to turn into a PhD in political theory. So you might say that politics and current affairs intrigue me greatly. In college I got to write the foundations to my own political theories for an independent study and it was well received. Since leaving college, my interest in politics has grown quite exponentially but that is to be expected, especially given the turbulent and peculiar and historical times we current live in, especially here in the United States, where I live in the Bronx.

In so far as the political spectrum is concerned, I've yet to truly find where I lie. In college I helped create the College Republican club and I served on the New York State College Republican State Committee for two years as its webmaster but I have to say that I don't have all that much in common with the Republican Party anymore, especially neoconservatives. Likewise, I'm miles upon miles away from the Democrat Party. Some people have said I'm Libertarian in my views but I've read through them and I can't say that I'm entirely that either. It seems that I'm my own ideology and that's something I'm hoping to work on in the time before I go to grad school. I have this much to say. Our government is corrupt, ineffective, weak, and beyond wasteful. I do not blame one party over another, I blame them both equally as much and I have come to believe that neither party nor ideology of either party has America in its best interests anymore than the other. Our leaders are out for their own personal benefit and our government is full of thieves and beggars who only want to see America fall into the pages of a history book while getting as rich and powerful as possible, despite what it actually costs to both the country and the world. My blog will be decidedly political in this nature and you can read all about it there.

So now that I've gotten that along the way I hope you're still reading. Aside from politics, I have other hobbies, normal hobbies, those being writing and photography. I've been writing creative fiction since I think the first day I learned how to hold a pencil and it has only grown more and more developed over time. I am always writing several stories at once and I have finished a handful over the years but I have yet to be published. That's something that will change with time too. Every year since 2005 I have participated in National Novel Writing Month (link), which beckons a writer to compose a novel 50,000 words or more in just thirty days, in the month of November. It's free and I encourage any aspiring writers to join this and participate next year. I have only achieved 50,000 words twice since 2005 (2006 and 2008). I failed miserably in both 2005 and 2007 but it's okay, there's always 2009 to get a winning record. Aside from November, I am writing all year long. Currently my biggest projects are the Fall of the Republic series and Infernal. The former is about America in the "not too distant future" and what grim existence it would be in such a world. The latter is a horror type novel that deals with life in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by the very worst of humanity. They are not related to each other.

Photography is a relatively new hobby. It all started, I would say, when I first went to Cape Cod a few summers ago. I had nothing but an HP M23 4MP point-and-shoot digital camera (I've come to realize it was a piece of crap). It took some decent pictures but looking back at them, they are quite awful in terms of quality. However, since then I took a greater interest in photography and took more and better photos the following year until this year. Earlier in the year, I bought myself a Nikon D60 Digital SLR camera with an 18-55mm VR lens. I've added an additional 55-200mm VR lens on top of that and I went back this year. Since I got the camera earlier in this year I've snapped some 5,000+ photos of a variety of things: Cape Cod, thunderstorms, sunsets, the various bridges in the Bronx, and tons of other things. My photography interest has grown by leaps and bounds since getting the camera and I'm glad I bought that instead of a PS3 (though I still want a PS3).

So welcome to my website and there was a little bit about me. If you want to learn more stay tuned to my blog and converse on my forums.
